Brassica
Tatsoi

Tatsoi forms low rosettes in fertile, well-drained soil around pH 6.0-7.5 and grows best in cool weather. Add compost and use light nitrogen feeding as needed; keep moisture even and leaves clear of soggy soil.

Tips
- Sow 1/4 inch deep and thin to 6-8 inches for whole rosettes, or closer for baby-leaf harvest.
- Water gently at soil level for about 1 inch weekly, avoiding prolonged saturation.
- Use insect netting to protect seedlings from flea beetles and inspect beneath rosettes for slugs.
- Keep beds weed-free and remove yellowing leaves to improve airflow around the low canopy.
- Harvest individual outer leaves while preserving the center, or cut the whole rosette before bolting.
