Tips

• Sow seeds 1 inch deep and 4-6 inches apart once soil reaches at least 60°F.
• Provide a 6-8 foot trellis and guide young vines onto it.
• Supply about 1 inch of water weekly, especially during flowering and pod growth.
• Check leaf undersides for Mexican bean beetle eggs and larvae, and avoid handling wet foliage.
• Pick tender pods every few days before seeds bulge to keep plants producing.
